Tally Marks and Loy Krtong

Hand Writing

During the term we are learning about how  to use "joined up" writing. At the moment we are practicing different letter shapes, However some of us are being risk takers and joining up some of our words in our writing activities.

Time Table Game

Now that we have learned a few different times tables we are able to play some fun class games to help us remember our tables. The champion on this day was Enjoy. Well done to her.

We were discovering how we find out fractions of whole numbers. We decided it was a good idea that we had learned about the two times table, because that helped us learn about halves.

Library
This seems to be one of the year twos favourite places to visit. There is so many books to choose from and we hear about different authors each month. It is also so great that the children remember to bring their library folder every Tuesday.

Mathematics

We entered the world of data handling this week and the students were introduced to ways of creating tally charts. Each of them seem to understand the concept and the reasoning behind making "groups of five" tallies.

Here are the students making tallies charts of items on a beach.

Unit of Inquiry

Miss Cynthia decided to pop in and help us create questions about photographs of objects from the past. The idea is that next week before we go to Udon Thani museum we will have written some questions for the guide to give us answers to.

Loy Kratong
Year two will be helping to present an assembly  about               Loy Kratong. This week we started preparing our speaking parts for that assembly.

CONGRATULATIONS
These are our "Study Ladder" certificate winners for this week. Well done to you all!!!
