 Chasing 3D Shapes
This week the students investigated the properties of
3 D shapes and have learnt words such as vertices and faces. They know how many edges different 3 D shapes have. We then went outside to find 3 D shapes in our world.



ICT and WRITING

This week we began to learn about what is email. We learned how to log on to our class website and use our class email. We emailed our parents asking them what was for dinner that evening. Matt was going to be eating a Matt Wrap!!! :-)    Kai-Mook was going to be eating egg and Bpao was lucky he was getting pizza!!!!





Study Ladder

Congratulations to the first of our "Study Ladder" certificate winners!!!




I am sure there will plenty more awards next week. The awards are awarded as the students hit targets as they move through the computer program online.


We are trying to become independent learners.











We are all learning about how to become independent workers and learners. We are taking care of organising our own work books and are following sets of instructions in the correct order.

Library 

In the library we enjoyed listening to a story being read by Mr John. This week the story was about an elephant named Kai-Mook who was looking for  a new home.






PROBLEM SOLVING

We tried to solve some open ended maths task. We will need a little more guidance in future to help us to successfully achieve meaningful answers. We will get there! :-) 





























Field Trip Friday 7th September

In our unit of inquiry we have been learning about how the choices we make can maintain a healthy lifestyle. As part of this topic we are going to visit Tops market in Central Plaza and a local fresh food market.  This will be about a thirty minute bus ride from the school. We will discuss the health benefits of the different foods we look at. Then we will visit a fresh food market. The students will choose and buy some healthy foods to eat at our afternoon snack back at school.

There is a permission slip in your child's yellow folder. Please sign and return by Wednesday. Thanks.
