Online Learning week 1 term 3

Week Two of Our Working Online The children have all been trying very hard to be on time and online every day. Well done to them and to you their, mums and dads for that effort. Hi From Year 2

Maths We are finding out the names of different units of measurement. We have been using the greater than and less than symbols to show our understanding of place value. Reading We are very happy with the children's reading progress. We want to encourage every child to read every night and have some questions asked about what they have read so they answer the questions to show they are understanding what they are reading. UOI - Forces of Course We have been investigating forces and learning the names of forces that are acting around us. We now know about; gravity, friction, air resistance, pushing and pulling forces Helicopters Then with our new knowledge we had to create a helicopter that would stay in the air the longest. 3 D Shapes, Forces and a Field Trip

Maths This week we were focusing upon fractions and the attributes of 3 D shapes. We then attampted to build some of the 3 D shapes that we had identified. A new addition to the blog!...Video...We hope it works! Our Unit Of Inquiry We set up some experiments this week to investigate magnetic force and electrical energy. Field Trip We set off to the airport to watch force in action as we watched airplanes take off and land. We were treated to a trip in a fire truck and shown how they would put ot a fire on an airplane if they needed to. We are investigating different inventors and their inventions that have helped to make our lives become easier to live. More from the field trip.
