Loy Krathong

Loy Krathong and The school Mascot 

Monday was a special day all over Thailand. Our school celebrated by holding a Loy Kratong morning. The children found out the meaning of Loy Kratong and then built there own Kratongs with bread bricks. It was a fun morning. 

At the end of the assembly we got to meet the school mascot. 

His name is Mr. Magic Rocky Fox.

Group Reading

The children are progressing with their reading skills. Three times a week the children complete three activities throughout the week. The activities are as follows; Reading comprehension with Mr. John, Guided reading with Miss Am and independent reading on an app called read theory.

Maths

Its been all about division this week. The children have been sharing groups of various items and trying to write related number sentences. We are also realizing the connection between the times tables and the answer we get when we divide. Next week we will start to talk about fractions. 

Positive Mindset

The learners are being coached on ways to tackle problems through using positive thinking. They are being encouraged to think in ways that they may not have been asked to think in the past.

Linux Kindly brought gifts from Japan for his friends 

Linux has just spent some time in Japan with his family. His favourite time was when he was at Disney Land.

Our Study Ladder certificate winners this week.

Writing 

The students are being challenged to write interesting and informative opening paragraphs for their stories. They are learning about the work adjectives do to make their writing interesting and the students are being reminded about the need to use capital letters and full stops correctly.

Handwriting

The children are still working hard to perfect their handwriting skills. 

UOI

As part of our UOI the students are inquiring about how something has changed over its time on earth.

We are calling it the  "Old and New Slideshow."

Library  

Here is a suggestion that we have given to the learners about how to choose books, so that they can read at home, from the library.
