Guest Speaker

We had a fantastic visitor on Wednesday this week. Chris's grandmother came to talk to the children about what life in Thailand was like when she was a young girl. She brought toys that she used to play with and she told the learners about her life both at home and at school. The children were amazed to hear some of the stories she told. Please ask your children about what she told them.

Writing Check

The class are learning two important writing skills. The first skill is they are trying to place adjectives in their writing to make their work more interesting. The second skill was learning how to edit their work, checking to make sure that they have used full stops and capital letters at the correct places.

Portfolio
We are still working on building a portfolio of work to show how we work in year two.

Assembly Practice
Here we are preparing for our assembly.

Unit of Inquiry
NEW and OLD is the theme of our cumulative assessment. we are comparing the difference between inventions of the past and what they look like now.

MATHS
This week we have been identifying fractions. We have learned how they are written and what the different parts of the number are related to. We are able to identify quarters, halves and thirds.

Group Reading

 Year 2 Assembly

Our assembly was all about feelings and emotions. The children in year two all spoke at the assembly and then asked questions about emotions. This was followed by a chance to play a board game where we expressed our feelings in different situations.

Hand Writing

We were concentrating on how to join our letters together. We nearly all of us were :-)
