week 6

Welcome to Week 6

This week the class were busy working on some new topics and ideas. Our handwriting skills are improving and our independence is growing. The children are starting to respond to instructions quickly and are settling down to work quicker. I think they are on their way to making a difference to their own learning efforts.

Maths

We spent a lot of maths time this week practicing how to measure the length of many things both, in our room and outside our room. 

 

Brushing Teeth

Here we are staying healthy, by brushing our teeth each day after lunch. This was an idea that the children had, so that they could stay healthy each day.

Flipgrid

The students are using an online app called Flipgrid, that allows them to make videos about their learning. We used it the week before, but we discovered that the classroom was too noisy to make a good video. So we moved outside to record this week.

Ms Som O

Miss Som O, our school nurse came to talk with the children about the importance of having a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The students listened to her presentation and interacted with her, by asking questions they had prepared during English lessons. They danced and did exercises during the time she was there.

Wai Kru

We celebrated Wai Kru Day this week and the students were able to come to the front of the school and share their plant gifts with me. It was a very humbling experience for me, however I did enjoy the day as did the students. Two of our learners were also celebrated because from Thai class they were awarded certificates for some of their great works.

Hand Writing

We are now on our way to joining up our letters. This weeks activity introduced how we write and join some letters together. very soon we will be able to write all of our work with joined writing I hope!

The Pin

One of our students was fascinated by Miss Am's hair decoration. She was so interested in it, that she had to have a try of it in her own hair. 

The results are beautiful!!!

Reading 

We are working in groups for reading and each group has an activity for each lesson. Sometimes the group will work on computer, another group will read with Mr. John and the third activity the group will read with Miss Am.

 Camera

The children will now be able to take photographs of their work and insert the pictures into their portfolio. They have been shown how to use the camera and paste their pictures into google slides.
