Brushing Our Teeth

Congratulations 

The children are starting to use "Study Ladder." 

When they achieve certain scores they will be awarded certificates. 

Congratulations to this weeks high achievers. 

We are looking forward to giving many more children certificates throughout the term. :-) 

SLIDE SHOW

As part of our unit of inquiry the children have been learning computer skills. The students are beginning to learn IT skills about making slideshows and how to use email. soon we will be sending emails to mums and dads.

MATHS

This week we have been practicing our number skills. 

We investigated what the number one million looks like. 

One of group even spoke about infinity! We talked about the new month and how we measure time. 

We learned about how many shapes and living things all have symmetry. 

One of our students helped to demonstrate to us, how we all have symmetry.

English 

This week we started a couple of new learning activities in year 2. The first was that we can now read a story and try to answer questions from that story by writing down the answers.

The second new skill we are learning is how to write the letters we will use when we start to practice our hand writing skills. For our first attempt the children did very well.

Unit Of Inquiry 

As well as looking at the things we choose to eat, to have a healthy life style, the children this week investigated different ways we can exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle. 

Next week we will create our own aerobic dance routines.

Brushing Our Teeth

Something interesting happened this week. One of our students decided that we should choose to brush our teeth after we eat lunch, to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So now after each lunchtime, the children are able to brush their teeth.
