International Week

International Week
This week the class were involved in learning about a country other than Thailand. We have a new student who comes from Indonesia, so Mr. John thought it would be wonderful if we could find out  interesting things about Indonesia.
We told the audience facts about the country and danced a traditional dance from the Javanese people of Indonesia.
After the assembly we toured other class rooms and learned about other countries and cultures from around the world.

One activity we did in class was to complete puzzles of maps of the world in class. This was fun and the students enjoyed completing the puzzles. They made up races to see which team could complete their massive map of the world puzzle first.

Library
This week we tried to find books about stories from around the world. Each morning we listened to different adults telling us stories from the country they were from. We heard stories from; Pakistan, Italy and Japan.

Congratulations
Well done to one of our star maths students. She won medals last weekend in a maths competition that asked to work out problems in her head as well as completing speed math challenges.

Field trip to Wongpanit
To complete our unit of inquiry into recycling and how we can better look after the earth, our class visited a recycling center. The staff explained what happened to the old plastic, glass and paper once it was given to them. The children listened well and asked some interesting questions to show that they were inquiring learners. Some of the students have promised that they will start to recycle at their homes! Have they started?

Our New Unit of Inquiry
We are now learning about forces and energy. A great introduction to get the learners thinking, reflecting and showing what they know, was to let them experiment with magnets. The students were able to discover what magnets do and don't do. The learners could use and remember many different words associated with force and energy. We will be continuing this investigation next week with Dr Lindsay and his drone!

Study  Ladder
The students worked in pairs to find out about forces using the study ladder program. We are finding out about; friction, gravity, pushing and pulling forces.

Learning How to Put Words
Into Alphabetical Order.
